Two parents were arrested Tuesday in Noyelles-sous-Lens (Pas-de-Calais) following being accused of mistreating their ten children.
Spanking, binding, deprivation of liberty … Two parents aged 44 and 40 were arrested Tuesday in Noyelles-sous-Lens, in Pas-de-Calais, following accusations of abuse, we learned this Saturday.
The eldest of this sibling of ten children, aged 24, following being kicked out by his father, filed a complaint with the police, triggering the opening of an investigation. Upon visiting the family’s home on Tuesday, police found two children aged two and five tied up and covered in feces.
They found that the youngest had motor and speech delays. The children might only get out of their chair when the parents decided. They were educated but did not attend school regularly.
Judicial review for parents
A neighbor of the family said she was “shocked” because the parents “didn’t seem to be mean”. “They were polite, greeted us when we passed them at school,” she continued.
The two parents were taken into custody on Tuesday for violence once morest a minor by ascending and evading legal obligations. They admitted the facts before being presented to a judge and being placed under judicial control. The children are placed in temporary placement.
