Tension and fear in a town north of Liverpool: a teenager from Banks, but originally from Cardiff, has been arrested after attacking several victims. Two children were killed and nine injured in the knife attack carried out by the 17-year-old on attendees of a Taylor Swift event at a dance school in Southport. Merseyside Police Chief Serena Kennedy said at a press conference. Six of the injured children and two adults are in hospital in a serious condition, she added. Officers were “shocked” when they arrived on the scene and found that several children had been subjected to a “vicious attack”, Kennedy said. The adults were injured while “bravely attempting to defend the children”, she added. “The motive for the attack remains unclear”, she stressed.
