This Wednesday the National Government announced that two positive cases of monkeypox have been confirmed in Venezuela.
The information was released by the Vice President for Science, Technology, Education and Health, Gabriela Jiménez-Ramírez through the social network Twitter.
He also stated that these two positive cases of monkeypox in Venezuela, are from traveling patients, coming from Brazil and Peru and highlighted that thanks to the efficiency of the epidemiological surveillance systemwere detected in time.
“We inform the country that thanks to the efficiency of our epidemiological surveillance system, two (02) positive cases to monkeypox in Venezuela, both patients are travelers, from Brazil and Peru », published the minister.
Similarly, Jiménez reported that «The epidemiological surveillance system national is active as part of the actions instructed by President Nicolás Maduro. The National Institute of Hygiene Rafael Rangel and the Ministry for Health, in coordination, monitor the cases».
In addition, he stated that these “patients have medical care and are in favorable health conditions” and the evaluation of the people with whom they had contact is being carried out.
Minister Jiménez made a call on behalf of the Bolivarian Government to comply with prevention and biosecurity measures.
Minister received PAHO representative
At another point, Minister Magaly Gutiérrez met this Wednesday with the representative of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) in Venezuela, Cristian Morales, to advance joint cooperation plans.
In a message shared on the Twitter social network account of the Ministry of Popular Power for Health (MPPS), the meeting between the officials was documented in images.
“Minister Magaly Gutiérrez held a meeting with PAHO’s representative for Venezuela, Cristian Morales, with the aim of continuing to join forces with the Bolivarian Government, to strengthen cooperation plans in health,” the message said on Twitter. .
On June 19, Morales reported that PAHO and the World Health Organization (WHO) are developing 32 projects in Venezuela to strengthen the health system in coordination with the National Government.
He specified that these projects seek to provide support in medicines, supplies, in raising the capacities of health centers and Comprehensive Diagnostic Centers (CDI).
