Two bullets hit the victim’s leg after four shots were fired.

The Brussels Midi police were called to intervene in a shooting incident in rue Brogniez, Anderlecht on Saturday evening at approximately 10:45pm. The victim was hit by two bullets in the leg following the shooter fired four times from a passing vehicle. The victim’s life was not in danger and was taken to Saint-Pierre hospital. The shooter has already been identified and his home searched, but he is still at large. The shooting followed an argument between the shooter and the victim who were known to each other. The police set up a judicial exclusion perimeter which was lifted at around 1:40am following the federal police scientific laboratory visited the site.

Four shots were fired and the victim was hit by two bullets in the leg. “Initially, we were reported to have been shot in Place Bara, but the traces of blood eventually brought our teams back to a hair salon on rue Brogniez. The victim was in front of this hairdressing salon when a vehicle in which the shooter was traveling drove past. The shooter fired four times from this vehicle and then fled towards Clemenceau. The victim had two bullet holes. Fortunately, her days were not in danger and she was taken to Saint-Pierre hospital, ”explains Sarah Frederickx, spokesperson for the Brussels Midi police.

The judicial exclusion perimeter set up by the Brussels Midi police was only lifted around 1:40 a.m., following the federal police scientific laboratory had visited the site. According to our information, this shooting followed an “argument” which had taken place between the shooter and his victim; shooter and victim who knew each other. The shooter, who fired a handgun, has therefore already been identified and his home searched, but, at the time of this writing, he was still running in the wild.



In conclusion, the violent incident that occurred on Rue Brogniez, Anderlecht, is another reminder of the dangers that exist in our society. The fact that the shooter and victim knew each other is even more alarming, showing how easily disputes can escalate into life-threatening situations. We commend the Brussels Midi police for their swift response and hope that the perpetrator is apprehended soon.
