Two bandits (Darell Manguingua and Jordan Eyango) thrown in prison for aggravated theft

It is for aggravated theft that the Criminal Court of Port-Gentil sentenced two young Gabonese men to 5 and 3 years of imprisonment, and a fine of 100,000 FCFA. These are Darell Manguingua and Jordan Eyango. They were found guilty of several robberies in Port-Gentil.

It was April 14, 2021 at the height of the mini-price district, in the 2e district of the economic capital. Hooded and equipped with a Tramontina machete, they set out to conquer new victims. It was then that they first came across a lady who was trying to do some shopping at the local grocer. Having tightened the noose around their prey, they order her to give them the cell phone. There is resistance and she takes a blow to the thigh with a machete. Panicked, she finally gives in and sees her tormentors leave with her Samsung Galaxy A80 brand cell phone with unlocking code in hand.

Then, not far from their first hold-up, a man pays the price for his unconsciousness for wandering past 10 p.m. in a dark corridor in this neighborhood known to be dangerous. Faced with the attackers, the man is immobilized, robbed of his two cell phones, his chain as well as the modest sum of 650 FCFA. The day following the robbery, the victims, knowing each other, then took the means to get their hands on their executioners, by crisscrossing the corners of the neighborhood with several people.

It was then that they came face to face with their captors Darell Manguingua and Jordan Eyango. Taken to the Judicial Police officers, the first city bluntly admits the facts to which it is accused while Jordan Eyango denies the accusations. Their trial on April 3, Darrell Manguingua remained consistent in his confession indicating that he was the author of the theft of the property of Steeven O and Lady Djessy R. On the stand, one of the victims also declared having perfectly identified Darrell Manguingua, because the accused hangs out with one of his “fresh” cousins. And to affirm that “it was Jordan Eyango who held the machete that evening”.

Found guilty of aggravated theft, Darrell Manguingua and Jordan were respectively sentenced to 5 and 3 years in prison and fined 100,000 FCFA.
