On Wednesday, 6/11/2024, in the area of Attica, the Electronic Crime Prosecution Directorate arrested two people, who are accused of a distinguished case of intellectual property infringement, jointly and consecutively.
In particular, following the appropriate use of information, according to which the 27-year-old has been active as an illegal reseller of subscription television channels in recent years, police officers conducted a search at his home.
During the on-site inspection, in the presence of a judicial officer and the defendants, the following were found and confiscated:
-5- IPTV box devices,
-3- mobile telephone devices,
-12- internal disks,
-9- external storage media (USB Stick),
– board – digital decoder card,
– notebook with handwritten notes,
-3 computers,
-2 digital decoders,
-2 servers and
– the amount of -128,050- euros.
In fact, when the police entered the house, the defendants threw in the uncovered area of the apartment building, a mobile phone device, an internal hard drive and a shoulder bag, which contained -3- IPTV box devices, -4- internal disks, -9- USB stick, memory card, OBV digital decoder board and the sum of -127,000- euros.
As it turned out, the defendants, through the digital devices, had access to an active IPTV management platform (portal) with a number of available active channels and “bouquets” of channels, as well as a number of on demand streams of movie and series content, with hundreds of active end users – subscribers.
The seized digital evidence will be sent to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations for laboratory expertise, while the seized amount of money will be deposited in the Deposit and Loan Fund.
