Twitter’s new logo is an X.

The famous chirping bird is destined to disappear to make room for a very dear letter to Elon Musk, already present in SpaceX and, recently, in the name of his new Artificial Intelligence startup, xAI.

The new Twitter logo

At the time of writing, the blue bird symbol of the popular social network founded by Jack Dorsey (and purchased for 15 dollars on iStock in 2006, in its original version) has just been replaced on the Twitter pages.

And the official Twitter profile has also changed and is now called “X”.

The transformation of Twitter was in fact already underway: in April, the company was incorporated into X Corp (the “x”, again!), effectively changing its name.

WeChat is the new model for Twitter

The goal of the change of the platform, which since its creation had adopted the bird as a logo, to represent the short 140-character chirps, is to transform itself into a super app, on the model of the Chinese WeChat.

The Super App would offer a whole series of new services in addition to messaging and use as a social network: gaming, e-commerce purchases, financial transactions but also the ability to access public services, such as booking medical appointments and much more.

When will Super App X see the light?

Although the New York Times had already disclosed some details of the business plan presented to investors in early May, it is currently very difficult to hypothesize the release times and the roadmap that will lead Twitter to transform itself into a Super App on the WeChat model.

However, we can count on the fact that Elon Musk will continue to communicate updates on the route right on Twitter (at least, as long as it is called that).
