Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who has become Twitter’s largest shareholder, tweeted on the 9th (local time) that “Twitter is dying”, targeting accounts of celebrities who have signed up for Twitter but are rarely active.
According to Bloomberg News, Musk cited data from the statistics site ‘World of Statistics’ and made this statement by citing the list of the 10 celebrities with the most followers.
The list includes Musk himself, former President Barack Obama, singers Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift, and soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo.
“Most of these top accounts don’t tweet or post very little content,” Musk said.
Musk’s tweets appear to have urged Twitter to improve its management.
Earlier, Musk acquired a 9.2% stake in Twitter on the 14th of last month, and recently reported to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that he was an active investor involved in Twitter management. After that, on the 5th, he was appointed as a director of Twitter.
