After a period of relative calm, the news involving the Twitter are in turmoil, some of which are caused by external factors.

However, the social network continues to make changes (or reverse them), so that, more recently, the platform announced the end of twitter wheel (Circles) and “resurrected” the original version of TweetDeck.

Circles

In a tweet, the head of the network, Elon Muskannounced that Twitter will discontinue the Circles “in favor of improved communities and group chats in DMs.”

Musk didn’t provide any additional information, so it’s unclear when the feature will be officially phased out. Furthermore, how pointed out by The Informationmany users are questioning what might happen to tweets that have already been posted to a Twitter Wheel.

It is worth remembering that the Circles were launched in August of last year as a way for users to post tweets that are only accessible to certain followers — similar to Instagram’s Close Friends feature.

Unlike the Circlestweets posted to Twitter Communities are visible to the wider network audience, so those who are not part of the community cannot engage with tweets or participate in discussions.

TweetDeck

After Twitter announces changes to TweetDeck and kills APIsApplication programming interfacesor application programming interfaces.”>1 legacy which allowed the old version of the client to work, the network is apparently re-releasing access to them, according to information from The Verge.

Good news: the old TweetDeck is back.

This “return” of the old version of TweetDeck was not officially commented on by Twitter, not even by Musk or the new CEO of the network, Linda Yaccarino. her own TweetDeck account it hasn’t been updated since last August.

To access the old version, access your TweetDeck account settings (in the sidebar on the left side of the screen) and, in the “Your Account” tab, select the “TweetDeck Version” option. Then tap/click “Yes, sign out”.

It’s not clear if the change is temporary or if the network, in fact, plans to allow access to the old version of TweetDeck, reversing its earlier decision. We will, of course, continue to monitor all of this.
