Twitter user who harassed deputy Alexia Rivas is sentenced to 6 years in prison 2024-02-29 17:39:07

This Monday, the Specialized Sentencing Court for a Life Free of Violence and Discrimination for Women of San Salvador sentenced tweeter Sigfrido Alexander Orellana Meléndez, known as Alex Umanzor or “Chiquillo Periquillo Power”, to 6 years in prison for the crime of cyberbullying to the detriment of deputy Alexia Rivas.

“On August 17, 2022, I was the victim of strong sexual and derogatory attacks by Alexander Orellana (…) We have completed the Public Hearing, where he was sentenced to prison for 6 years, plus the corresponding civil reparations” , expressed the parliamentarian on social networks.

Rivas reflected that all actions, whether good or bad, have their consequences, which is why he reiterated the call not to exceed the limits of freedom of expression so as not to commit crimes.
