Twitter is working on a “Leave Conversation” feature

(Ecofin Agency) – With more than 436 million users, according to the latest figures from the joint study by Hootsuite and We are Social, the social network Twitter has become over the years a great place for conversations around many subjects. Quickly, you can find yourself in the thread of a heated discussion and your notifications will quickly spiral out of control. To solve this problem, Twitter is said to be developing a new feature.

According to tech engineer Jane Manchun Wong’s tweet, the microblogging platform is working on a feature that will allow you to leave a Twitter conversation. It will first remove the mention of your account in the first tweet of the thread as well as on the replies to this tweet. Then it will block future mentions of your account in the conversation, and finally you will no longer receive notifications from this discussion.

It’s a step further in the management of toxic conversation threads with an evolution of the “Hide a reply under this tweet” or “Block this user” functionality. The subject of mental health is at the heart of Twitter’s priorities, which wants to see more healthy conversations on its network.
