O Twitter has had an option to save posts for a long time, but it has always been limited to an option hidden in the contextual or sharing menu and a button in the side menu to access the posts. saved items. However, the social network is starting to give greater prominence to this part of its platform.
Now, users have a specific button to add or remove a tweet to saved items, which is available specifically when “entering” a publication. It’s located between the “Like” and “Share” buttons, which — curiously — still houses the old option to save an item.
Also new is that Twitter is also showing how many people have added a particular tweet to the saved items in the counters section below each post. With this, the number of information regarding the tweet that is displayed to users increases to five — a section that had recently been expanded by counting the number of views.
Some people even didn’t like the arrival of the new label very much — which can increase the number of “informative” lines regarding the tweet to three, leaving the app’s look somewhat polluted depending on the size of the device on which the app is used. it’s installed.
According to Twitter, the saved item count works similarly to the view count, not showing who saved a given tweet — just how many people did. Such a count appears both for the author of the publication and for those who view it.
The changes, which also include a banner at the top notifying you that the tweet has been added to your saved items, are currently only available in the Twitter iOS app and are rolling out gradually.
