He said Tesla CEO Elon Musk says the Twitter purchase deal Temporarily suspended due to fake accounts.

Twitter estimated that fake or spam accounts represented less than 5% of monetized daily active users during the first quarter.

The social media company had 229 million users served ads in the first quarter.

This revelation came days after Musk, who signed a $44 billion deal to buy Twitter, tweeted that one of his priorities would be to remove spam bots from the platform.

Musk had said earlier that he seeks to make Twitter a broad and reliable service as a system, and inclusive of all groups.

He added, “We in (Twitter) are at war to correct the course,” stressing that “Twitter” should not be a platform to deceive people for their money.

He also pledged to get rid of “bots, scammers, and Twitter booby traps.”
