The story occurs on New Year’s Day. According to the British newspaper Daily Mail, the first baby, Alfredo, was born at Natividad Medical Center in California at 11:45 p.m. on December 31. Her sister Aylin was born 15 minutes later at midnight on New Year’s Eve. The mother said she was surprised to discover that her twins were going to have two different birthdays!

A family finally complete!

The two babies Alfredo and Aylin have joined their three other brothers and sisters (two girls and a boy) and are now part of the Greenfield family who live in Monterey County in California in the United States. The whole family mightn’t wait to welcome them home, especially the eldest son who will finally have a little brother.

Medical staff will forever remember this extraordinary birth. Dr Ana Abril Arias, family doctor, said in a statement that this birth was one of the most memorable of her career. He was delighted that day to help this family and start the new year in style!

In France, the figures are almost similar since the births of twins represent nearly 3.4% of births in 2020 (recent data cited by francetvinfo.fr). Professor Gilles Pison, researcher at the National Institute of Demographic Studies, explains that two factors contribute to the increase in the number of twin pregnancies: the development of medically assisted procreation as well as women who become pregnant late.
