It’s regarding time once more that the Swedish Disney metalers from Twilight Force take you on a journey to the land of elves, dragons and fairies. The title of their fourth disc At The Heart Of Wintervale promises all sorts of comprehensive storytelling of glorious warriors and epic battles.

And already the opener Twilight Forceone yourself HERE listen to fulfills every expectation one might possibly have of the band. Consistently sporty drumming, glockenspiel, trombones and insane guitar riffs celebrate a real firework display right from the start. And also Allyon on the microphone, which at times still felt like a foreign body in the band on his debut, is finally in top form, which one can expect from other projects Trick Or Treat or Luca Turillis Rhapsody is used to.

The title track continues at breakneck speed At the Heart of Wintervalewhich doesn’t let up in any single aspect and in parts even ups the ante when it comes to the bombast. Dragonborn on the other hand, there is almost a penetrating Happy Metal note and the chorus makes you think of the intro of a 90s sitcom. Anyone who was not yet convinced that the band stands for good mood metal should be free of any doubts here at the latest.

A little bit is still gone

Highlands of the Elder Dragon is subsequently the first of two ten-minute tracks. The song is long but neither boring nor long-winded. Storytelling, guitar tinkering and large-scale synthesizers alternate once more and once more and tell a fantasy story ready for a film.

If it wasn’t nerdy enough for you, you can HERE the video too Sunlight Knight watch in pixel art. The Last Crystal Bearer takes another ten minutes to unfold its full magnificence. The actual conclusion of the album forms with The Sapphire Dragon of Arcane Might is Back once more a medieval one Acoustic version of the band’s now well-known hit. As a small bonus, there are still from Skyknights of Aldaria and The Last Crystal Bearer an orchestral version on top. Because the previous work was obviously not bombastic enough for the creative artists.

Conclusion
Twilight Force
deliver with At The Heart Of Wintervale probably their best album to date. The fact that the gentlemen at the instruments are absolutely sublime was already out of the question, but in terms of songwriting, several shovels have been noticeably upped here. The absolutely great singing performance does the rest and already in January makes for a hot candidate for various annual reviews. 9,5 / 10
