A Twelve South presented today o ButterFly SEa more affordable version of the popular ButterFly — a 2-in-1 wireless charger launched by the brand in the past as an alternative to Apple’s infamous MagSafe Duo.
Capable of charging an iPhone and an Apple Watch at the same time, this new model is available in three colors: white, gray and pink. The ButterFly SE’s finish is no longer aluminum, but instead adopts a material from Twelve South called “soft-touch”.
The idea is to continue being a way to charge two devices at the same time with easy access, due to its size. It is also great for travelers thanks to its foldable design, reducing the space taken up in a suitcase by the accessory, for example.
The ButterFly SE uses Qi2 technology, capable of providing up to 15W of power to your smartphone, with your Apple Watch charging at up to 5W. It can also recharge a pair of AirPods, including on the Apple Watch dock (if you have a model compatible with the Apple Watch charger).
It also comes with a 1 meter long USB-C cable, but without a wall charger — something that is included in the box of the more expensive model, by the way.
The price of ButterFly SE is US$100US$30 less than the original model. For those interested, pre-sales are now available on the Twelve South websitewith the first deliveries scheduled for September.
