Former Tuition Tutor Suspected of Failed Love

An arson case occurred in the Robinson Garden Building in Mid-Levels. The arrested 27-year-old man suspected that his courtship failed, and pretended to deliver food to set fire outside the apartment of the woman he liked. At regarding 8:30 am today (17th), a 27-year-old man surnamed Lin lit some paper with a cassette type LPG stove outside a unit in Robinson Garden Building, No. 3 Robinson Road, Central District. The 52-year-old male resident in the unit was shocked and called the police immediately. After the police arrived at the scene, the man was arrested. He was suspected of arson. The case was handed over to the first team of the Criminal Investigation Team of the Central District Police District for follow-up. No one was injured in the incident and no evacuation was required.

“Yahoo News” received news that the arrested man was a tutor and met an Indian female student at the tutoring agency in 2018. He later resigned from the tutoring agency. Later, in June 2022, he showed love to the Indian woman, but was rejected, and there was no further contact. Unexpectedly, at nearly 8:30 in the morning today (17th), he disguised himself as a delivery man and “stepped on the door” directly to the woman’s Robinson Garden apartment. After claiming to deliver food to the security guard, he boarded outside the victim’s house. He was wearing fake hair, a women’s jacket and a bust. After he came to the door, he was suspected of lighting the paper on the ground, and the fire triggered the building alarm to go off. The victim’s father opened the door to check and saw the man igniting flaming objects on the ground outside the unit, so he immediately put out the fire and hunted down the suspect. He was finally intercepted outside the building and called the police for help. After the police arrived at the scene to investigate, the man involved in the case was successfully arrested.

According to the news, the arrested man has harassed the woman many times in the past. In June 2022, he sent a love message to the matter through WhatsApp, with pornographic words, but was rejected by the woman. Then, on the 14th of this month, 3 days before the arson case, the father of the victim saw him pouring tinna outside the unit through the closed-circuit television outside the residence, so he immediately called the police, but luckily no accident was caused. Unexpectedly, he committed another crime today and was eventually arrested by the police.
