This was announced by the leader of the Turkish “Homeland” Party, Dogu Perincek, and stressed that these decisions will help accelerate the process of normalizing relations between Ankara and Damascus.

The Turkish politician said: “The Syrian issue will be one of the main topics on the agenda of the discussions between the two presidents.” Russian-Turkish cooperation is of great importance, including in the field of improving relations between Ankara and Damascus.”

He added: “The only factors that can stop and fail the Atlantic plans and the American plans in Syria are the cooperation of Ankara and Moscow, represented by the leaders Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and their upcoming discussions (in Kazan). Inaction and delay in this process are absolutely unacceptable, and the Astana coordination must succeed. Cooperation between Türkiye and Russia on Syria means supporting the territorial integrity of Turkey, Syria, Iran and Iraq and preventing the plan to create “Kurdistan” by the United States and Israel.

Earlier, Russian Presidential Assistant Yuri Ushakov told reporters that Türkiye had submitted a request for full participation in the BRICS group, and stated that the request was under consideration.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov announced that President Erdogan will participate in the BRICS summit in Kazan.

Earlier, Erdogan said that Turkey expects Russia and Iran to take effective measures against the Israeli threat against Syria.

The Turkish President had previously noted that he was ready to meet his Syrian counterpart, Bashar al-Assad, and was awaiting the Syrian side’s response to the proposal in this regard.

The Russian Ambassador to Ankara, Alexei Erkhov, indicated that his country is making every effort to help Türkiye and Syria reach agreements to normalize relations between them.
