Turkish media: Ankara announces date of Sisi’s visit to Turkey

The correspondent said that Ankara announced that the Egyptian President will be received at the presidential palace by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

On the sidelines of the visit, a new version of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting between Turkey and Egypt will be held, headed by Erdogan and Sisi.

This visit comes as Türkiye continues what it describes as its “diplomacy regarding Gaza.”

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will receive Sisi with an official ceremony at the presidential palace in the Beştepe district of the Turkish capital, Ankara.

Developments in the Gaza Strip will be on the main agenda of the visit and talks. They will discuss (the joint steps that can be taken to stop the Israeli attacks, ensure a ceasefire in the region, and put the Netanyahu government on trial).

During the talks, the two presidents will also discuss other regional issues in addition to Palestine, such as developments in Libya, Sudan and Somalia, and bilateral relations between the two countries will also be discussed.

This visit will be the first visit of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to Turkey, and during the visit, bilateral agreements will be signed in many fields.

The steps to be taken to achieve the new target of $15 billion in trade between the two countries, instead of the current $10 billion, will also be discussed.

Prominent Egyptian business figures are expected to accompany Egyptian President Sisi to Türkiye.

During the discussion of bilateral relations, the focus will be on developing cooperation in the fields of energy, especially liquefied natural gas, renewable energy and mining, and cooperation in the fields of health, tourism and defense.

Efforts to increase cooperation between universities in the two countries, and studies in the field of media and communication, will also be discussed.

A new page was opened in relations between Turkey and Egypt, with the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the Egyptian capital, Cairo, on February 14 of this year 2024, which was his first visit to Egypt in 12 years.

Turkey’s Ambassador to Egypt, Salih Mutlu Şen, announced that agreements covering trade, economic, cultural and health aspects will be signed between Egypt and Turkey.

He explained, in a press statement, that under the leadership of both Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, relations between the two countries continue to develop in all fields, from economy to culture, from tourism to industry, and from education to health.
