Inspection campaign
Turkish authorities launched a large-scale inspection campaign on food stores in Turkey with the aim of ensuring food safety and maintaining public health standards.
This campaign was announced by the Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Ibrahim Yumagli.
The minister pointed out that this campaign includes all 81 states of Turkey, and includes grocery stores, butcher shops, and canned food outlets.
He stressed the government’s commitment to giving priority to public health, noting that inspections will be conducted accurately and decisively.
He added that the government attaches great importance to public health issues, and requires all companies that provide food to re-verify their compliance with health standards.
This campaign comes within the framework of a broader initiative that began earlier, during which inspectors examined various establishments, including restaurants, cafes, and hotels that consume large quantities of food.
In the previous phase of this initiative, more than 7,600 employees carried out more than 55,000 inspections, and non-compliance problems were discovered in 245 companies, leading to administrative action.
Concluding his statement, the Minister stressed that inspections will continue over a period of three weeks regularly to maintain compliance with standards.
This campaign comes within the framework of the government’s efforts to preserve the health of citizens and ensure the quality of the food they eat.
