Full box for Airbus. The Turkish airline Turkish Airlines has ordered 220 aircraft from the Toulouse manufacturer, including 150 large-capacity A321 single-aisle aircraft and 70 long-haul A350 aircraft, the company announced on Friday. This contract follows two previous orders: the first last July, for four A350-900s; the second in September, ten other planes of the same model.

No amount has been communicated for this giant order, but at the list price, most updated since 2018 and never applied, this contract would total $42.7 billion.

For a “sustainable future”

Professor Ahmet Bolat, member of the executive committee of the Turkish company, welcomed this impressive purchase: “This order represents more than a simple renewal of our equipment, it is a testimony of our involvement in the field of innovation, excellence and for a sustainable future”.

Compared to older models, the A321neo have in fact been designed to offer “a 50% reduction in noise, a 20% saving in fuel oil, as well as a reduction in CO₂ emissions”, according to information provided by Airbus.
