Turkey’s Homeland Party calls for launching joint remittance system between Türkiye and Russia

He pointed out that the volume of Turkish exports to Russia decreased in the first half of the year by 22% compared to the same period last year.

He added: “Turkey is facing problems due to the sanctions imposed against Russia, especially in the export of industrial products, as the value of exports decreased by $1.382 billion in the first five months of this year due to the pressure of US sanctions” on Turkish banks and companies.

“Turkey and Russia should take rapid steps to expand the mutual use of the ruble and lira, launch a mutual payment system and eliminate potential obstacles,” he said.

He stressed that the SWIFT system has become a nightmare for countries under Western control, as the West can control all money movements.

Last May, Russian Ambassador to Turkey Alexei Yerkhov said that the United States and the European Union were threatening Turkish financial institutions with sanctions if they cooperated with Russia.

He pointed out that the volume of banking transactions between the two countries has decreased significantly, and the importer is no longer able to transfer the value of the goods he has purchased, and therefore the exporter does not receive the money.

Russian President Vladimir Putin recently discussed with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan the banking problems between the two countries, and the two sides decided to move completely to settlements in rubles, liras, and currencies of friendly countries, including China.
