“Netanyahu has shamefully inscribed his name in history as the “butcher of Gaza”, like the murderers who preceded him,” insisted the Turkish head of state, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Erdogan delivered a speech on Friday at the 5th conference of the Jerusalem Inter-Parliamentary Platform which took place in Istanbul.
After comparing Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to a “modern Hitler”, Erdogan highlighted the links between his country and Jerusalem.
“In every corner of Jerusalem, there are traces of my heroic ancestors who served this blessed city for 400 years. No one can erase these traces,” he explained before adding:
“Netanyahu has shamefully written his name into history as the ‘Butcher of Gaza,’ like the murderers who came before him.”
The Turkish president accused Israel of wanting to destroy “the ancestral identity of Jerusalem” while recalling the sacred side of the Al-Aqsa mosque, the first Qibla of Muslims.
In addition, Erdogan assures that the Türkiye will not remain silent in the face of a genocide, while the Palestinians have been resisting alone for 203 days despite all constraints.
“By providing unconditional military and diplomatic support to Israel, the American administration is not contributing to the solution but to the escalation of the problem,” he lambasted, assuring that American military aid of 25 billion dollars to Israel while 35 thousand people were massacred in Gaza is a clear indicator.
He also highlighted the West’s double standards in the face of supposedly universal values when it comes to Israel.
“Western values such as democracy, freedom, law, freedom of expression, freedom of the press were forgotten and immediately put aside with Israel,” he stressed.
