Turkey’s denial of responsibility for the bombing of Dohuk is a “black joke” – Al-Manar TV website – Lebanon

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry said that all indications confirm Turkey’s responsibility for the Dohuk bombing, and described Ankara’s denial of responsibility as a “black joke.”

Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Al-Sahaf told Al-Iraqiya News, “The Iraqi state’s narrative confirms that Ankara is behind the attack, which is not the first and comes in a series of ongoing attacks. Turkey’s denial and irresponsibility is a “black joke” that Iraqi diplomacy will not accept.”

With regard to the investigation, Al-Sahaf explained that “the investigation committee is headed by Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein, under the guidance of the Prime Minister, and it is a national effort.” He added: “If the Turkish side wants a joint investigation committee, we seek that, and all indications confirm that the Turkish side is responsible for the attack.”

He said that “the ministry is now taking the maximum possible procedural rules within the diplomatic work,” noting that “the permanent representation of Iraq in New York was approached today, and it will be possible to request the Security Council to hold an emergency session to discuss the Turkish aggression and to issue a resolution that guarantees Iraq’s safety and security.”

Al-Sahhaf described the attack as “the most dangerous in a series of Turkish attacks in Iraq.”

He pointed out that “what Turkey says that there is an agreement that allows it to penetrate Iraq is incorrect, as there is only a record of a meeting that Ankara concluded with the previous regime and the record, however, obliges it to request the permission of the Iraqi government and that the incursion does not exceed 5 km, and they did not abide by the same record. “.

Regarding the demands to expel the Turkish ambassador, Al-Sahaf said, “Baghdad asked the Iraqi Chargé d’Affairs in Ankara to return to the country, and today we handed the Turkish ambassador a strongly worded protest note and he was informed of the Iraqi positions and the measures that will be taken. We are adopting it within subsequent tracks and periods.”

With regard to the Iraqi pressure papers to respond, Al-Sahaf said, “There are two steps for the Prime Minister, from which it is possible to derive some indications, in the forefront of which is that he indicated that Iraq has multiple options that guarantee its security and sovereignty, and perhaps among them the economic paper, and the second steps are his visit to the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense and his meeting with security leaders and discussion The security and sovereignty of Iraq and the development of the military infrastructure to face challenges, and all this puts diplomatic perceptions before options related to procedural applications.
