Turkey demands that Israel withdraw its troops from Rafah

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey believes that for the sake of stability not only in the Middle East, but also in the whole world, Israel should withdraw its troops from the checkpoint near the city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip.

As reported by Ukrinform, this is stated in the statement of Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Oncju Keceli regarding the latest events in Gaza.

“The operation in Rafah will affect not only the region, but also the whole world. It is imperative that Israel withdraw immediately from the occupied Gaza section of the Rafah border crossing. The status quo should be quickly restored in Rafah and on the border,” said the Foreign Ministry of Turkey.

At the same time, the ministry welcomed the acceptance by the Palestinian side of the proposal to establish a ceasefire in Gaza and the mutual release of hostages and detainees.

“Although there has been such a positive development of events in the direction of ending the destruction and massacre in Gaza, Israel’s escalation of its attacks on Rafah has once once more shown that the Netanyahu government is acting dishonestly,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry is convinced.

As reported by Ukrinform, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated that the operation in Rafah will not stop until Hamas is eliminated in the area or until an agreement on the release of the hostages is reached and implemented.
