Turkey.. Criticism of Gulshan’s arrest after “Imam Hatip” joke

The wounded survivors of the bloody accident in the Turkish city of Rize spoke regarding the poor treatment and services provided to them by the ambulance crews and the hospitals to which they were taken for treatment.

On Thursday, the Saudi Al-Ekhbariya channel published interviews with some of the injured who were transferred to the Kingdom for treatment, in which they tell how the accident happened on August 20, and details of what happened with them.

One of the wounded, called “Mohammed al-Abassi”, said that the number of people who were on the bus were 23 people from one family.

Al-Abbasi explained that “the driver of the bus they were traveling in cooled the brakes when they overheated due to their excessive use on the mountain roads in that area, and then the brakes failed and the bus hit a roadside barrier before it overturned.”

Referring to the poor services provided to them in the hospital, where they were taken for treatment, he said: “We faced bad treatment in Turkey by not taking into account our medical condition, and if we stayed longer, we would be among the dead.”

In another interview, one of the wounded mentioned how he had an operation on his stomach, even though he was injured in his hand. When asked regarding the reason for this, they told him that they suspected of internal bleeding.

The injured confirmed that following that, the Saudi embassy in Turkey opened an investigation to find out the circumstances of what happened.

For his part, Dr. Nofal Al-Jarian, Director-General of the Medical Cases Center at King Fahd Hospital, said that “10 cases of the injured in the Turkish Rize accident have been discharged from the hospital, and 6 cases are receiving treatment so far.”

The Saudi embassy in Turkey had revealed that 18 Saudi citizens were injured following a bus carrying Saudi tourists was involved in a traffic accident in the Turkish city of Rize.

And the Saudi embassy in Turkey evacuated the injured in coordination with the Ministry of Health, in order to complete their treatment in the Kingdom, according to the Saudi Press Agency “SPA”.
