Ankara: 14 workers were killed in an explosion in a coal mine in northern Turkey. 28 people were injured. Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu confirmed this. The accident occurred at a state-owned mine in Amazra, Bartin province.
It is estimated that 87 workers were in the mine at the time of the accident. It is reported that 45 workers are trapped in the mine. A 2014 coal mine fire in the western Turkish city of Soma killed 301 people.
