Turkey announces its position on Putin’s announcement to annex 4 Ukrainian regions to Russia

Al-Marsad newspaper – Agencies: The Turkish Foreign Ministry announced Ankara’s position on the accession of Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporozhye and Kherson to Russia.

According to the Anadolu Agency, the Turkish Foreign Ministry expressed in a statement on Friday its rejection of Russia’s decision to annex 4 Ukrainian regions.

“Her country cannot accept this decision, which is a serious violation of the principles of international law,” the ministry said.

She noted that “Turkey did not recognize Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014, and stressed on every occasion its strong support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity, independence and sovereignty.”
