Thousands of Moroccans called on Arab and Islamic countries to support Palestine, denouncing the continued “Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.”
Solidarity stands were held with Gaza and Lebanon in several Moroccan cities, including Casablanca, Mohammedia, Berrechid (west), Oujda (east), Midelt (southeast), and Al Hoceima (north), in response to the call of the “Moroccan Authority for Supporting the Nation’s Issues” (non-governmental).
The protesters chanted slogans praising Palestinian steadfastness, and others supporting Lebanon, and among the slogans chanted were, “The people want to overthrow normalization,” “Palestine, we are with you until the Day of Judgment,” “Oh Qassam, oh beloved,” and “From Beirut to Gaza, Resistance and pride.”
The protesters confirmed that they will continue to protest until the war stops.
In Tunisia, the “Tunisian Association of Supporters of Palestine” (a non-governmental organization), which was founded in 2011 to support the Palestinian cause, called for the demonstration.
The protesters raised slogans including: “Shame, shame, nation of a billion… Gaza has been lit on fire,” “With our soul and blood, we will redeem you, O Palestine,” and “Abu Al-Abd (Ismail Haniyeh) commanded us to redeem Al-Aqsa with our blood.”
Muhammad Al-Bashir Khudari, Executive Director of the Ansar Palestine Association, said: “This is the 52nd weekly vigil that we have organized since the beginning of the Al-Aqsa flood, and we continue to support the Palestinian people.”
Khudari added: “We say to the resistance in Gaza and to the Lebanese, Iraqi and Yemeni resistance, we are with you,” and expressed his regret for the Arab and international silence regarding the genocide in Gaza.
With American support, the brutal Israeli war that has been ongoing in Gaza for more than a year has left more than 140,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that killed dozens of children and the elderly.
Tel Aviv continues its war, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution to end it immediately, and the orders of the International Court of Justice to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
Since last September 23, Israel has expanded the scope of its war, which it has been waging in Gaza since October 7, 2023, to include most of Lebanon’s regions, including the capital, Beirut, through air raids of unprecedented violence and intensity. It also began a ground invasion in its south, ignoring international warnings and UN resolutions.
These raids, as of Friday evening, resulted in 1,411 dead and 3,979 wounded, including a large number of women and children, and more than 1,340,000 displaced people, according to official Lebanese data.
