Tunisia and Algeria are close to qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, by defeating Mali and Cameroon in the play-off round of the African qualifiers.

The Algerian team defeated its Alex Reed Cameroon, with a goal signed by Islam Slimani, in the 40th minute of the match.

Riyad Mahrez’s companions need to win or draw any result in the return match next Tuesday.

In turn, Tunisia returned with a precious victory from Mali, which came with friendly fire through Mali defender Moussa Sissoko.

The Tunisian national team will host its Mali counterpart in the second leg of the decisive round next Tuesday.
