A new branch of the Cité des Sciences will be opened in the city of Kasserine before the end of 2024. This project, covering an area of nearly 3,000 square meters, was confirmed by Hassen Tahri, head of the communication at the Cité des Sciences in Tunis.
The creation of this branch represents an investment of 3 million dinars, making it the largest in Tunisia. It will include a digital planetarium, an information library, as well as a series of scientific units and laboratories, including facilities dedicated to biotechnology, physics and chemistry, as well as scientific and applied research .
Located within the Higher Institute of Technological Studies of Kasserine, this new infrastructure will also be equipped with a molecular biology laboratory and a digital manufacturing laboratory. Visitors will also be able to enjoy a room for practical workshops, several interactive scientific units, a multipurpose room, a space dedicated to scientific discoveries, as well as a corner for children aged 4 to 12 years, without forgetting an exhibition on mathematics.
Furthermore, Hassen Tahri mentioned several projects that the Cité des Sciences of Tunis plans to inaugurate during the months of November and December 2024. Among these initiatives is the rehabilitation of the branch of the Cité des Sciences in Tataouine, which will include maintenance equipment, the opening of a new planetarium, exhibitions and areas for children, as well as the organization of a science festival in Sidi Bouzid.
