FILM Tulang Belulang Tulang, which is the result of the incubation program from Indonesiana Film, will be shown in cinemas on September 26, 2024. This is the first film from the Indonesiana Film program to successfully enter Indonesian cinemas.

The film, directed by Sammaria Simanjuntak, tells the story of a family who carries out one of the traditions in the Batak region, namely Mangokal Holi (moving the bones of ancestors).

On their journey to bring the bones of Tulang Tua (grandfather) to their hometown, they were faced with a problem, namely that the suitcase containing the bones was lost.

While searching for him, they faced so many challenges. On the other hand, the family in the village had made a big event to welcome the bones of Tulang Tua (grandfather).

With hard work and love for Tulang Tua (grandfather), they finally managed to get the bones back and buried them in the village.

This film, which has elements of comedy, is one of the films resulting from collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology through the scenario incubation program from Indonesiana Film.

The Cultural Supervisor of Film at the Directorate of Film, Music and Media of the Ministry of Culture, Education, Research and Technology, Marlina Yulianti, said that Tulang Belulang Tulang was the first film from the Indonesiana Film incubation to be shown in cinemas after 5 years of the program.

“We ourselves, in terms of the program, this is also a broken egg. So it’s been our 5th year running the Indonesiana Film program. This film is the premiere, a script from the incubation of Indonesiana Film and finally produced into a film that is shown in theaters,” said Marlina during a press conference for the film Tulang Belulang Tulang at CGV Grand Indonesia, Thursday (19/9).

He added that Indonesiana Film felt proud because after 5 years, it was finally able to deliver a film to be shown in cinemas.

“After 5 years of Indonesiana Film’s journey, we are proud to finally be able to bring the film ‘Tulang Belulang Tulang’ to Indonesian cinemas,” he said.

Marlina hopes that this film will not only be shown in Indonesia, but can also penetrate international festivals.

The film Tulang Belulang Tulang is played by actors who have North Sumatran blood. Atiqah Hasiholan plays Mami Late, Tanta Ginting plays Tulang Ucok, Tasha Siahaan plays Hasian, David Suragih plays Papi Mondo, Cornel Nadeak plays Alon, Lina Marpaung or Mak Gondut plays Opung, and Landung Simatupang plays Tulang Tua.
