The last news
Flight “TUI fly TB 3012” was scheduled to take off from Hurghada at 8 p.m. Monday evening and land at Brussels airport around 12:50 a.m.
“Last night (Monday, editor’s note), we were told that the flight would no longer leave due to a technical problem”, explained Tom Waterschoot, a passenger, to our colleagues from HLN. “We were driven to the hotel where we spent the night. This followingnoon (Tuesday, editor’s note), we were taken back to the airport”.
“We had to leave at 6 p.m. and land at Brussels airport around 11 p.m.,” he continues. But around 9:30 p.m., passengers were still waiting in the airport hall, without any information.
Crisis meeting
Piet Demeyere, spokesman for Tui, confirmed the existence of a technical failure. “A technician was specially flown in from Belgium,” he said. TUI fly convenes a new crisis meeting on Tuesday evening on the fate of the passengers concerned.
But as time passes, discontent grows. “There is a lot of frustration because of the lack of communication,” says Tom Waterschoot, who himself has to catch another flight tomorrow for work. “No one from TUI fly is present here which is very frustrating.”
“Many passengers refuse to leave with the same plane on which we worked for hours, but which we cannot repair. Why doesn’t TUI put us on another flight?”.
