The fried chicken steaks are packaged in pieces, emphasizing that they are “Taiwanese” Tangyang chicken with six kinds of seasonings. This is a supermarket in Kumamoto, Japan, right next to the TSMC dormitory. Since TSMC set up a factory, the industry has spotted business opportunities. Taiwanese snacks such as chicken chops, braised pork rice, fried rice noodles and scallion pancakes are sold at noon every day, allowing overseas travelers to relieve their homesickness and engage in food diplomacy with the Japanese.

Hisashi Maeda, the person in charge of the supermarket, said that the number will be adjusted for Taiwanese and gradually increased.
Shinya Iwashita, president of Taiwan Food Importers, said that when the Taiwan Exhibition was held before, sales were better than expected and there were many people attending.
There are at least 1,200 TSMC families living nearby. Taiwanese people can be heard speaking Chinese in supermarkets, and many products are also introduced in Chinese. The industry is optimistic regarding their consumption power, and during the Lunar New Year celebrations a while ago, they also set up a special section for souvenirs for Taiwanese to take back home.
Ms. Xu, a relative of TSMC, said that she felt warm when she saw the welcome sign at the door. There were also people who helped with Chinese translation, and she was very friendly to Taiwanese people.
Not only are the ingredients sold well, there are also well-known Taiwanese restaurants in the largest department store in the area. The Japanese favorites are the xiaolongbao and shrimp and egg fried rice, which are available at almost every table. TSMC went to Kumamoto to set up a factory, creating a wave of Taiwanese excitement in the local area. It not only brought business opportunities, but also brought closer exchanges between Taiwan and Japan.
