The Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) reiterated the summons to the ten former presidential candidates and to the representatives of the political parties in the electoral contest of July 28, in which the current national president, Nicolás Maduro Moros, was reelected.
Caryslia Rodríguez, president of the country’s highest court, asked political organizations to record “electoral elements of legal relevance” related to the presidential election process as announced on Monday the beginning of the “expertise” process of the consigned material.
The head of the Venezuelan judiciary emphasized that failure to appear before this court “will entail the consequences provided for in our current legal system.”
“It is noted that all representatives of the parties, as well as the citizens who served as candidates, have been duly and formally summoned, and must comply with the aforementioned court order and appear before this jurisdictional body according to the published schedule,” he said during a speech on Tuesday from the headquarters of the TSJ.
