The great achievement of Postcolonialism, the role of Constantinos Karamanlis, the great political change of 1981 when the country definitively left behind the dark civil war past, the great lost opportunity of the economy, the change in the character of the major parties that ultimately led to bankruptcy but also everything that took place in the critical period of 2015 until the exit from the memorandums by the SYRIZA government are the central points in the extensive article by Alexis Tsipras on the completion of 50 years since the Post-colonization.
“The truth, then, is not that Postcolonial values led to bankruptcy. The opposite: We were led to bankruptcy because of the gradual abandonment of Post-colonial values. The causes of the crisis lie in the fact that, with the responsibility mainly of the two parties that ruled the country for 45 of these 50 years and throughout the period before the crisis, a client state was built, flabby, largely corrupt and mainly ineffective » he points out characteristically.
In the article published on the website of the Alexis Tsipras Institute entitled “Half a century of transition – Achievements and lost opportunities”, the former prime minister approaches with a self-critical attitude the responsibilities of the first government of the left as well as its achievements. At the same time, he harshly criticizes the Mitsotakis government for the “black stain of Democracy” that it leaves in the Post-colonial era, the wiretapping. “The big patient during the Mitsotakis administration is not the economy, but the institutional functioning of the Republic,” notes Alexis Tsipras in the article.
“One of the most important moments of post-colonialism, joining the United Europe, remains meteoric: We are in Europe, but we are moving away from its hard core. We stayed, but we didn’t become Europe” underlines Alexis Tsipras, setting the new national collective goal at the same time.
