TSE notifies cancellation of PIN and Republican Union parties
The TSE definitively decided to cancel the political parties PIN and Unión Republicana for not obtaining enough votes in the 2023 general elections to obtain a seat in Congress.

By means of an edict, the Citizens Registry (RC) of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) notified the final resolution to cancel the political parties National Integration Party (PIN) y Republican Union (UR).
The decision of the RC was based on article 93, literal b) of the Electoral and Political Parties Law (ALDER), which establishes the reasons for cancelling a political organization, for example: not achieving even one seat in the Congress of the republic; this being the case of said political groups.
Part of what was resolved by the Citizens Registry indicates that pursuant to the provisions of Articles 94 and 95, as well as Article 22 of the Regulations, the name and symbol or emblem of cancelled parties may not be used or registered by any political organization before ten years following their registration has been cancelled.
Other cancelled matches
On January 22nd the TSE made official the cancellation of the political parties Movement for the Liberation of the Peoples (MLP) and My Family for not having complied with the criteria established in literal b) of article 93 of the Electoral Law.
In addition, the RC also canceled the National Advancement Party (PAN), Podemos, National Convergence Front (FCN – Nation), Humanist Party of Guatemala, Republican Party, Guatemalan Popular Party and Poder.
However, they challenged the decision of the RCand they are waiting for the resolution TSE.
