The Supreme Electoral Court (TSE) reported on February 23 that an employee of that agency was surprised when he was recording the conversations he had with the staff of that entity, and it was Judge Blanca Alfaro herself who noticed the action.
The presiding judge of the TSE, Blanca Alfaro, said in a video they shared with journalists that she was notifying an employee regarding a vacation period that he had to take.
“Our surprise is that every time he goes with people, the young man records all the messages and he was in an office right now and was recording. “I asked him to lend me the phone because I suspected it and he actually records all the calls and messages,” Alfaro said in the video, in which the accused also appears.
“I don’t want you to think that this is revenge, quite the opposite, how unfortunate that a worker from the Supreme Electoral Tribunal does such ugly things to damage such a noble institution,” says Alfaro.
In the video it is observed that Alfaro addresses the young man and tells him: “You know what corresponds, and the telephone number, of course, which at this moment we are sending to the Public Ministry with a corresponding complaint. Mr. Secretary, and we prepared a notarial document that I actually asked for the phone and the phone was because he was recording all of us. For what purposes? We don’t know,” says Judge Alfaro.
Complaint
The TSE reported that the respective complaint was sent to the TSE Inspectorate and that it is that instance that is responsible for carrying out the procedures and presenting the case to the Public Ministry.
Furthermore, the corresponding procedures will be seen internally.
He is a relative of the prosecutor Curruchiche
The employee accused of recording the conversations was identified as Christian Andreé Natareno Juárez, who holds the position of Clerk 1 of the Coordinating Unit of Delegations and Subdelegations, position number 427, with a monthly allocation of Q5,950, since February 3, 2021.
TSE sources mentioned that Natareno Juárez is a relative of Rafael Curruchiche, head of the Special Prosecutor’s Office once morest Impunity of the Public Ministry.
Prensa Libre and Guatevisión consulted the TSE and confirmed that Natareno was the nephew of prosecutor Curruchiche’s wife.
The MP was also consulted on this issue and in social communication they limited themselves to saying that Natareno is a relative of prosecutor Curruchiche.
Several calls were also made to prosecutor Curruchiche on his cell phone, to find out his position on the case, but it was not possible to communicate.
