Daniel Tschofenig achieved the second podium finish of his young career in Norway.

ÖSV ski jumper Daniel Tschofenig clinched the second World Cup individual podium of his career at the Raw Air in Lillehammer (NOR) on Thursday. The 20-year-old from Carinthia finished third behind Poland’s Dawid Kubacki and Slovenia’s Anze Lanisek.

_After the first round, Tschofenig was still in the lead. At this point, Stefan Kraft was in third place and also on course for a podium. But then came a second round, which caused some discussions._

While Kraft was the only one in the top group to gain 10.4 points due to a tailwind when he jumped in the decision, Markus Eisenbichler, who ended up fourth, who had just gone over the Bakken, suffered eleven minus points. In the Raw Air standings, Kraft fell to third behind Lanisek and is now 35.5 behind leading Norwegian Halvor Egner Granerud, who contained the damage in sixth place of the day. Meanwhile, Tschofenig made up a lot of places and is now fifth behind Kubacki, 73.4 points behind him in first place.

Clemens Aigner, Manuel Fettner and Jan Hörl made up a few places in the second round and finished tenth to twelveth. After 130 meters in the first round, Michael Hayböck only managed 115 meters in the second and slipped back from ninth to 25th place immediately ahead of Maximilian Steiner.

At the end of the Raw Air series, there are two individual competitions for the men on Saturday (4.30 p.m.) and Sunday at ski flying in Vikersund, including qualification on Friday (5 p.m.) and a total of three competitions on the program.

“I can go down with the lift right away. There’s so much at stake, and then they’ll send you down at plus ten winds. If you don’t get upset then, I don’t know what is.” (Stefan Kraft)

Daniel Tschofenig: “Of course you always want to be at the top, but it wasn’t easy, we waited a long time at the top. The jump was good, so the joy outweighs that. I didn’t get what was going on with Stefan, but I’m sorry for him.”

Stephen Kraft: “I feel fooled, I can go down with the lift right away. It’s regarding so much, and then they send you down at plus ten winds. If you don’t get upset then, I don’t know either. That’s zipping me right now very much.”

Manuel Fettner: “Today it seemed to me as if the rug had been pulled out from under me twice. In terms of the jumps, today felt like one of the best competitions of my entire career. Nevertheless, the bottom line is only eleventh place.”
