In a video shared on social media, he asserted that the ruling of the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) “is not above popular sovereignty.” He also indicated that it will worsen the crisis in Venezuela.

“No ruling will change the truth of what occurred on July 28, nor is it above popular sovereignty. Attempting to judicialize the election results does not alter the truth. We won overwhelmingly, and we have the records to substantiate it,” he emphasized.

“Since Nicolás Maduro appeared before what should be the highest court in the nation, we recognized that he was merely attempting to deny the truth and continue concealing the records with an invalid judicial decision. They issued a judgement to satisfy the regime. A ruling that, instead of paving the way to peace, will only exacerbate the crisis we are enduring,” he continued.

Edmundo González also directed a message to the National Electoral Council, urging them to publicly display the minutes “table by table and allow for an impartial international audit.”

“Gentlemen of the CNE, do not hide behind a court; take responsibility and respect the results. Show the minutes table by table and facilitate an impartial, independent, and credible international audit,” he stated.

“That is the only action they should undertake. No matter how many obstructions they create, the truth will prevail, and our beloved Venezuela will embark on the path of peace, justice, and freedom,” he concluded.

González’s Stance on Electoral Integrity

Presidential candidate Edmundo González, representing the Unitarian Party, recently spoke out against the attempts to judicialize the election results in Venezuela. In a campaign event held in Caracas, he emphasized that such actions do not alter the truth conveyed by Venezuelans during the elections on July 28, asserting, “We won overwhelmingly and we have the records to prove it.”

Crisis Exacerbated by Judicial Decisions

In a video shared on social media, González addressed the ruling of the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), stating that it is not superior to the will of the people. He reiterated that attempts to manipulate the election outcomes through judicial means will only serve to deepen the ongoing crisis in Venezuela.

González stressed, “No ruling will stop the truth of what happened on July 28, nor is it above popular sovereignty.” He added that the ruling aimed to placate the regime rather than promote genuine peace and resolution.

Engaging with the National Electoral Council (CNE)

The candidate also directed his comments towards the National Electoral Council (CNE), demanding transparency in the electoral process. He called for the CNE to publicly disclose the voting records “table by table,” advocating for an impartial international audit of the election process.

The Demand for Accountability

González implored, “Gentlemen of the CNE, do not hide behind a court, assume your role and respect the results.” His insistence on transparency highlights a critical moment in Venezuelan politics where accountability is paramount for the future governance of the nation.
