After the next court date was set for August 28, Donald Trump left the courtroom. Shortly before the next hearing, the judge ordered the Justice Department to produce a paper on how long the case will last, including a proposed hearing date. Trump’s team must react to this.
Trump attorney John Lauro said his team may need more time to “get an understanding of the extent of the charges and the extent that there is exculpatory evidence.”
The Aug. 28 hearing comes just five days following the first debate of Republican candidates for the presidential nomination. Although Trump has repeatedly indicated that he will not attend, he has not specifically ruled it out.(trx/DPA)
