Former US President Donald Trump apparently has problems depositing the money for his million-dollar fine. Now there is a glimmer of hope for him.

The US Republican and former President Donald Trump has to pay a total of 464 million dollars in the New York fraud case. His lawyers announced they would post a $100 million bond – the full amount of the fine would be “exorbitant and punitive.”

But the court in New York did not want to follow these arguments. On Wednesday, according to US media reports, Judge Anil Singh decided that Trump must deposit the full amount – including interest, which amounts to $111,984 per day.

According to the Daily Mail, the lawsuit stated that Trump might not raise the full amount. A New York judge is to blame. A ruling prevented Trump and his company from seeking bank financing for three years.

“The size of the judgment, coupled with an unlawful and unconstitutional blanket ban on lending transactions, would make it impossible to secure and post full bail,” the attorneys wrote in a document filed Wednesday.

On this point, however, the judge agreed with Trump’s lawyers: she lifted the ban that had previously prohibited Trump from taking loans from New York banks. Trump might now deposit his real estate and other assets as security and receive cash as a loan from the banks. She ordered that further requests from Trump’s lawyers to delay the payment not be addressed until following his appeal of the fraud verdict ends.

Prosecutors threaten to seize Trump’s building

New York Attorney General Letitia James has already threatened to seize Trump’s building. She might also confiscate other assets. “If he does not have the means to pay the judgment, we will go to court to seek enforcement action and ask the judge to seize his assets,” she told ABC News.

Trump described the legal proceedings once morest him as a “witch hunt” and boasted of having $400 million in cash. According to his lawyers, the confiscation of his properties would cause “irreparable harm.”
