Trump’s Lawyers Challenge Cellphone Data in Fulton County D.A.’s Georgia Election Case: Will it Undermine the Timeline?

The Fulton County District Attorney’s office is facing challenges in response to cellphone data presented by Donald Trump’s lawyers. The data allegedly undermines the timeline given by D.A. Fani Willis regarding her relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade. Trump’s attorneys filed an analysis of Wade’s phone and cell records as part of their motion to disqualify Willis and her office from prosecuting the Trump 2020 Georgia election interference case. The data suggests that Wade and Willis had a romantic relationship starting in 2021, while they both testified that it began in 2022.

Willis has acknowledged the romantic relationship in court papers, but she and Wade maintain that it did not start until 2022. Trump’s team’s analysis was conducted by a private investigator using a geofencing analytics tool called CellHawk. Defense lawyers are trying to prove that Willis and Wade entered into a corrupt bargain during their romantic relationship. They allege that Willis placed Wade on the prosecution team and paid him hundreds of thousands of dollars for personal financial gain.

The D.A.’s office is now working to find expert witnesses who can counter the interpretation of the data presented by Trump’s lawyers. Their response is expected to be filed soon. The source close to Willis claims that the interpretation of the data is not what it seems. The defense does not dispute that Wade visited the condo multiple times
