Trump wants to debate with Biden: ‘Wherever and whenever’

“It is important for the good of our country that Joe Biden and I debate issues that are so vital to America and the American people,” said Trump, who today saw his last Republican challenger Nikki Haley drop out. “I look forward to a response.”

Trump and Biden have not yet officially received their party’s nomination, but that seems to be a matter of time because there are no longer any serious opponents. They are both expected to win enough delegates in the primaries within a few weeks to become their party’s candidate.

During the Republican primaries, Trump refused to debate with fellow party members who were running against him. Every time they held a debate, Trump scheduled another campaign event at the same time.

Repeat of previous elections

In 2020, Donald Trump and current President Joe Biden (81) also competed against each other. Then Biden won the election with his Vice President Kamala Harris with 7 million more votes than Trump.

It is not yet known who will be Trump’s running mate, but many arrows are aimed at US Senator Tim Scott, who withdrew from the race to become president last November. The AP, among others, calls Scott Trump’s potential deputy prime minister candidate.

On November 5, Americans will go to the polls to elect their new president.
