Trump uses assassination attempt to accuse Biden and Harris

Former US President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has blamed the rhetoric of President Joe Biden and Vice President and political rival Kamala Harris for the apparent assassination attempt on him in Florida on Sunday, Fox News reports.

According to Trump, the shooter, who was detected by the US Secret Service while the former president was playing golf at his West Palm Beach club, “believed the rhetoric of Biden and Harris, and acted accordingly.” “Their rhetoric is getting me shot, when I am the one who is going to save the country, and they are the ones destroying the country, both from within and from without,” he said.

“They do it with a combination of rhetoric and demands that they surround me with,” Trump said, claiming that this is what “dangerous fools, like the shooter, hear.” In this context, he said that Democrats use “highly inflammatory language.”

Secret Service agents began firing at the suspected attacker when one of them spotted a rifle barrel sticking out of a fence at the golf course where Trump was located. The suspect, Ryan Wesley Routh, tried to flee the scene but was detained after a witness took a photo of his car. The incident occurred near the property line of the former US president’s club.

The alleged attacker was hiding in bushes about 400 to 500 yards from Trump, who was playing golf at a nearby hole. It was reported that “an AK-47 style rifle with a scope” and “a GoPro [camera] that he was going to use to take photos” were found near his shelter.

This new and alleged attack against Trump occurs in the middle of a controversial electoral campaign, in which both sides have resorted to insults and disqualification as a way of expressing their opinions about their rival. There is still no confession from the alleged attacker establishing that it was an attempt on the life of the tycoon.
