Certego has a history that stretches back over 300 years. Before industrial lock manufacturing even started, the lock for Uppsala Cathedral was manufactured in a forge that later became part of the wide range of companies that now make up Certego. And although the roots of today’s Certego are in the traditional locksmith industry, the company has constantly further developed its operations. The company today has 1,200 employees in four countries and delivers solutions that make life safer and easier for millions of people.

– We continuously improve our products and services. Today we offer design, installation and complete security solutions to our customers in multi-family housing, construction, public sector, commercial properties and critical infrastructure, with everything from service services to projects and key management in our stores, says Joakim Halfwordson, COO and sustainability officer for Certego Group .

– It is necessary to make an adjustment for the future. This is also in line with our sustainability goals to reduce our environmental impact, he continues.

Certego supports, among other things The UN’s environmental goals number 12 and 13: That is, to stand for sustainable consumption and production and to combat climate change.

– We do this by reviewing how we sort our waste, but also by taking the step into the future with our car fleet. Our ambition is for all new company cars to be electric, and here we have come a long way in the switch. At the same time, we are actively starting the rollout of electric cars to our technicians, as this is becoming an increasingly common customer requirement. It also came to our attention, when we performed a materiality analysis with our customers and suppliers, that transport is an issue they prioritize highly, says Joakim.

To make this work as smoothly as possible for Certego, the company has extended cooperation with OKQ8.

– We chose OKQ8 as they have a wide range of services and a comprehensive solution for our needs. Certego are based throughout Sweden and OKQ8 can offer a geographical spread and their investment in fast charging at several stations was also interesting, says Joakim Spångberg, Purchasing Manager at Certego Sweden.

Certego has business leasing on their cars via Ziklo (CarPay Fleet). These in turn have OKQ8 as a contracting party, which provides Certego with a comprehensive solution. You can charge the car via the Ziklo card and the employees who have a benefit car are invoiced directly for the costs related to private charging via Ziklo

For those employees who do not yet have access to charging at home, Certego through OKQ8 offers the option of installing a charging box at the home address at a discounted cost. The charging box is configured once morest Ziklo in order to distribute the costs between the employee and Certego. An allowance per kWh is also paid to the employee as compensation for the increased electricity cost.

OKQ8 has today installed 32 charging points at 30 percent of Certego’s branches. In addition to this, Certego also has an extensive fuel agreement with OKQ8, which means that you can not only charge at OKQ8, but also at a number of other charging stations. In addition, the company now also has a rental car agreement with OKQ8.

– We see a great advantage in having everything under the same umbrella. There will be less handling and administration for us. Our goal is for our entire vehicle fleet to be electrified. But we can see challenges in northern Sweden with charging facilities, as the switch to electric cars is slower there. There are also challenges with charging stations for employees who do not have their own plot of land to install OKQ8’s charging stations. But we hope that it will also eventually resolve itself. Development in this area is moving forward all the time, concludes Joakim Spångberg.
