The Washington Post reported, citing sources and letters in its possession, that representatives of this politician’s campaign headquarters had, in the past few weeks, sent letters to the leadership of the US Secret Service, in which they expressed their dissatisfaction with the failure to provide adequate security for Trump. The Republican campaign insisted that the Secret Service provide military aircraft to secure Trump’s movements or provide additional protection for his personal plane.
In addition, Trump campaign managers insist on banning flights over Trump’s residences and rallies, providing him with bulletproof glass for use at rallies in seven swing states, and providing military vehicles for Republican movements. Campaign managers fear an attempt to assassinate Trump by Iran, which could use “drones or missiles.”
The Washington Post described the request as “astonishing and unprecedented.” She stressed that “no candidate in modern history has been transported on military aircraft on the eve of the elections.”
At the end of September, Trump wrote on his social network, “Truth Social,” that Iran poses a threat to his life. His campaign, in turn, said that the Office of the Director of National Intelligence informed Trump of “real and specific threats from Iran” aimed at destabilizing the situation in the United States. The Iranian Foreign Ministry said that Tehran considers Trump’s statements about Iranian threats to his life to be just part of the election campaign.
