Donald Trump obtains the postponement of another of his trials, following the one (sine die) for the secret Mar-a-Lago papers. An appeals court granted her request to hear a challenge to Judge Scott McAfee’s decision to dismiss prosecutor Fani Willis’ motion to overturn Georgia’s 2020 vote. the start of the proceedings had not yet been set but the examination of the appeal will guarantee the tycoon a further postponement of the hearing. Trump and other co-defendants dispute the prosecutor’s conflicts of interest in the affair with another investigator.

The Florida federal judge presiding over the prosecution of classified documents that former President Donald Trump allegedly stole while in office has canceled the May 20 trial date, postponing it indefinitely. The chances of Trump facing a jury in one of the two federal criminal cases once morest him before November 5 are greatly reduced.
U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon’s order was expected in light of the still unresolved issues in the case and because Trump is currently on trial in a separate case in Manhattan on charges of hush money payments during the 2016 presidential election. The case of New York involves many of the same lawyers representing him in the federal case in Florida.
Cannon said in a five-page order Tuesday that it would be “unwise” to set a new trial date now, casting further doubt on whether federal prosecutors can bring Trump to trial before the November presidential election.
Trump, who is seeking to regain the presidency, was due to go to court on May 20 but both the prosecution and defense had acknowledged that date would have to be delayed.
