Trump injured at Pennsylvania rally after gunshots heard

Butler (USA), Jul 13 (EFE).- Republican candidate and former US president Donald Trump (2017-2021) was evacuated from the rally he was holding on Saturday followingnoon in Butler, Pennsylvania, following shots were heard at the location, which apparently wounded him.

According to EFE, shots might be heard from the scene, but it is not clear whether they were from the security services or the alleged attacker.

The Republican candidate was evacuated on foot from the stage, where he had been for only 10 minutes, with traces of blood on his right ear, as EFE was able to confirm from the scene.

Minutes following the former president was evacuated following the shots were heard, the Trump campaign issued a statement saying he was “doing well.”

Authorities confirmed the scene had been declared a crime scene and an ambulance assisted with the evacuation.

Authorities have urged calm among the thousands of people attending the rally, which is taking place just before the start of the Republican convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

A strong police, Secret Service and helicopter presence surrounds the area and is protecting the former president.

Trump put his hand to his ear following the sound of three alleged gunshots, followed by several more amid screams.
