Trump: – I should have died

Trump: – I should have died

– I am not meant to be here. I should have died, Trump told the tabloid newspaper on the plane to Milwaukee.

At the meeting in Milwaukee, the 78-year-old former president will be formally chosen as the party’s candidate for the presidential election in November.

Trump suffered a minor injury when he was hit in one ear when an assassin shot at a campaign event on Saturday. One of the participants in the election meeting was killed, and the perpetrator was shot by the police.

Changed the speech

– It was a very surreal experience. Thanks to luck or God, many say God, I’m still here, Trump told the New York Post with a bandage over his right ear.

In an interview with the Washington Examiner, Trump says that he has written regarding the speech he will give to the national convention on Thursday. He says that people with different political views have called him, and that he will advocate that an effort be made to bring the country together.

– This is an opportunity to bring the whole country, even the whole world, together. The speech will be very different, very different than it would have been two days ago, says the former president.

Trump praises the bodyguards

The bodyguard service Secret Service, which looks following the security of both sitting and former presidents, says they are not changing the security arrangements for the national meeting.

– We feel confident regarding the security arrangements for this event, and we are ready. We do not foresee any changes in security, says Secret Service coordinator Audrey Gibson, at a press conference.

Trump himself would not vote in the criticism that the Secret Service has received in the followingmath of the assassination.

– They took him with one shot between the eyes. They did a fantastic job, said the presidential candidate.
